Get pumped for a new-and-improved Big-Air BMX Triples event. ASA Entertainment and MegaRamp have teamed up in a multi-year contract to bring you the MegaRamp ASA Triples Tour, which kicks off in Sacramento on August 28. Check out all the info below:

LOS ANGELES (July 26, 2010) Leading action sports event producer, ASA Entertainment (ASA), and MegaRamp Events, creators of the world-renowned 90 high ramp used in the Big Air competitions at the X Games, announced today that they have entered a multi-year partnership to produce the MegaRamp ASA Triples tour (Triples). The ASA Big-Air BMX Triples, which was introduced in 2007 as part of the ASA Action Sports World Tour, was developed into a stand-alone tour in 2010. As a result of this partnership, the Triples events moving forward will be rebranded as MegaRamp ASA Triples .

The MegaRamp ASA Triples showcases the industry s top BMX and skateboarding pros competing in a series of unique head-to-head battles while taking on the challenge of the 195-foot long course, consisting of a 25-foot high roll-in ramp, two 25-foot wide jumps and a course-ending 14-foot high quarter-pipe. The competition s head-to-head format stretches the athletic limits of these competitors and showcases the pros innovation and versatility with a bevy of awe-inspiring tricks.

The tour will initially debut with four MegaRamp branded events this fall among the eight Triples contests being produced by ASA in 2010.

Below is a list of the next 2010 events:

August 28 Sacramento, CA ARCO Arena

September 25 Fort Wayne, IN War Memorial Coliseum

October 9 Kansas City, MO Sprint Center

October 23 State College, PA Bryce Jordan Center

Additional 2010 events are expected to be announced shortly.

ASA is extremely excited to partner with MegaRamp, said Rick Bratman, CEO of ASA Entertainment. The two organizations are very like-minded in their philosophies, so coming together was very natural. We look forward to producing a variety of unique and first-class events under the joint MegaRamp/ASA brand that will serve the needs of athletes, media and fans of action sports.

The MegaRamp ASA Triples event represents another innovation for skateboarding and BMX, said MegaRamp executive Darryl Franklin. This exciting live event format presents our athletes with fresh challenges and provides fans with a great live event. MegaRamp Events is please to be associating with ASA to help bring quality entertainment and world class athletes to a wider audience.

The 2010 MegaRamp ASA Triples events will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports Net in November and December as part of ASA s action sports block. Stay tuned to www.MegaRampASATriples.com or www.actionsportstour.com for more details.

Weekly 7 - July 26, 2010
by: Bintern

As Summer rolls on, so do the action sports tours. Ryan Dungey, as usual, dominated another Lucas Oil AMA Pro Moto event. The Pro Wake Tour had another pit stop in Colorado Springs. Red Bull X Fighters headed to Madrid, the Dew Tour BMX Open was in Chicago, and Quiksilver held a surf comp in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. To top it all off, Tony Hawk fell down during a skate demo at Downtown Disney... not the happiest place on Earth for everyone, I guess. Check it out!

with a fist pump.

Robbie Maddison Wins Red Bull X Fighters Madrid
This weekend, the Red Bull X Fighters came to Madrid for the fourth stop on a world tour. Aussie Robbie Maddison was victorious, with Mat Rebeaud and Andre Villa rounding out the top three. Maddison is now 45 points behind tour leader Villa. The next stop of the tour is August 14 in London, where Villa will hope to further his lead as Maddison, Nate Adams, and Levi Sherwood claw at his heels. Coverage of the Madrid stop on BNQT and tour info at the X Fighters homepage.

Bob Soven Takes PWT Colorado Springs

At the fourth stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour, expectations lay with Phillip Soven to claim victory. But in the finals, Phillip's younger brother Bob shocked the crowd after coming from behind to win the event. This is Bob's first Pro Tour win in the Pro Men's Division, but despite the big victory, he still didn't crack the top three overall ranking. Phillip is the points leader with 345 points, followed by last weekend's winner Harley Clifford at 330 points, and Rusty Malinoski at 246 points. The next event will take place in Knoxville, TN on Aug. 14. More coverage at ALLI Wakeboarding.

BMX Open Wraps in Chicago

Chicago hosted the first Dew Tour BMX event of the season last weekend with the Nike 6.0 BMX Open. Miami, Fla. native Mike Spinner, 22, won the BMX park final, England's Jamie Bestwick, 39, won the vert final and 15-year-old Brett Maddog Banasiewicz became the youngest BMX athlete to top the podium after winning the dirt final. Quiksilver Four-Star Pro from Puerto Escondido

Local boy David Rutherford won the latest Quiksilver Pro event in Oaxaca, Mexico over the weekend. The waves were huge and crazy, which made for a lot of pipe surfing and even a broken board. The event's location made it easy for South American surfers to shine on home turf, which is exactly what wildcard David Rutherford did. More coverage at BNQT.

Dungey Wins Again... Shocker!

Ryan Dungey won the Washougal Retro National this weekend, which marks his seventh consecutive victory in the 450 class. Washougal, Washington hosted the eighth event in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross championship. Always the bridesmaid, Andrew Short took second place again, followed by Australian Brett Metcalfe in third. Dungey leads the overall standings by an absurd 95 point margin. In the 250, Trey Canard won at Washougal, which inches him closer to overall leader and second-place finisher Christophe Pourcel. Coverage from ALLI.

Tony Hawk Takes a Tumble at Downtown Disney

In Anaheim this weekend, Downtown Disney hosted its first Action Sports Weekend. The three-day event features djs, dancing, games, prizes, street team performances, athlete meet-and-greets, and skate and BMX demos. At 6 pm on Saturday, Tony Hawk and friends took to a giant vert ramp to show off their moves. Tony Hawk fell pretty hard and had to be rushed to the UC Irvine Trauma Center. He is now recovering and giving updates to fans through his Twitter. OC Register article here.

Getting Pumped for the Winter Dew Tour

Summertime is great for surf, skate, and sun, but all you snowboard and ski enthusiasts may be having powder withdrawals. Luckily, the Winter Dew Tour is getting even bigger this year, with new reasons to be excited for snow season. 1) The pipe will grow to 22 feet, making it an Olympic-worthy course. 2) The Tour adds Vermont's Killington Resort as the second stop. The tour will kick off in Breckenridge, CO on Dec. 16, followed by the Killington stop in January and the final event in Ogden, Utah at the Snowbasin Resort on Feb. 10-13. David Rutherford Wins Quiksilver Pro Puerto Escondido

Last weekend, the Four-Star Quiksilver Pro went down in Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, Mexico. Local wildcard David Rutherford took home the win in a competition that saw huge surf and great competition.

Surfline has the full report, along with a solid photo gallery:

CONDITIONS: Three days of solid beachbreak tubes, courtesy of a serious, long-interval SW groundswell, offered up four perfect ten-point rides, a couple dozen broken boards -- and possibly more tubetime than the entire WQS to date.

HIGHLIGHTS: Apart from the surf itself, which offered up equal moments of joy and terror, the simplicity of an event at Puerto is a highlight in and of itself -- sack up, turn around, pull in and go. Make it, get a great score. Eat it, get Mexican donuts. Early round carnage count included Tyler Newton, who broke a board and got held down by two waves in his R1 heat -- the Kauai charger ended up advancing to the quarters.

STANDOUTS: On Day One, Brazilians Denis Tihara and Junior Faria both posted perfect 10-point rides by getting

shacked silly. "When I first got in the water I took those massive sets on the head," Tihara said. "Luckily, when I finally got out the back I was in perfect position. The first two waves of the set came in and then I got that perfect one. I'm so happy to have gotten a perfect score in my first event at Puerto."

Day Two saw local surfer Angelo Lozano nail a clean ten-pointer. "Getting a perfect 10 at home is the best," Lozano said. "I've never gotten a 10 before. It was just amazing. To go from losing the heat and then coming back and winning the heat, I'm just so stoked."

Day Three, it was all local surfer David Rutherford, who was a Quiksilver Pro Puerto Escondido wildcard. The 24 year-old went on an absolute tear, threading a perfect 10-pointer on an amazing backside barrel in his semifinal heat before amassing the highest heat total of the entire event in the final, a near-flawless 18.45 to secure the victory. "I guess I was just trying to get some scores to back me up and they ended up being pretty good scores," Rutherford said. "I was trying to get one of those big sets, but I never really had the chance to get one of those bombs. I just couldn't be any happier right now to win."

QUOTE: "I'm so happy, I've just been having so much fun throughout this event and it feels good to represent for the locals." --David Rutherford

FINALS
1 - David Rutherford (MEX) 18.45
2 - Kevin Sullivan (HAW) 14.25
3 - Casey Brown (HAW) 13.35
4 - Ricardo dos Santos (BRA) 13.15
